The 40 West Arts District, City of Lakewood and local neighborhood supporters saw great potential in creating a Farmers’ Market that brought fresh, local foods to their neighborhood. They partnered with Gene Kalesti of Pure Colorado Farmers’ Markets to create what is now, the 40 West Farmers’ Market. Its third season is a full 20 weeks, with the market being held on Saturdays, starting June 23rd and ending October 27th, 2018. This market will continue to grow year after year and become a true staple in the fabric of the neighborhood.
A few things to note about this Farmers’ Market that is different than most-- the 40 West Farmers’ Market has a community completely focused on easing our neighbors experiencing hunger. We also recognize Miniature Local Organic Farms that are located on less than two acres, by giving them discounted fees. Also our Arts community giving them exposure and space at a discounted rate to show our amazing arts district. Our focus is 100% Colorado grown, manufactured, and produced products as well as green, clean produce. And we recycling and compost 100% of EVERYTHING throughout the hours of the market
